Intensive care unit is a hospital unit

Which is concentrated with special equipment and specially trained personnel for the core of seriously ill patients requires immediate and continuous attention called also critical caramel for the core of seriously ill patients requires immediate and continuous attention  called also critical care.

The staffs are specially trained in providing immediate care to this is specially trained in providing immediate care to those who are seriously ill.

All the staffs in critical care areas are well trained in providins advanced cardiovascular life support.

Patients on an icu will be looked closely by a team  of icu staff. There will normaly be one nurse for everyone or two patients.

Icus are equiped with Highly sophisticated equipments like

  1.  Ventilator
  2.  Infusion pump
  3.  Crash cart (which contains emergency medicines)
  4.  Defibrillator

Infections control pratices  in icus

  • To reduce the risk of spreading infection, visitors are asked to clean their hands when entering and leaving the unit .
  • Visitors are not allowed to visit the patients in ICUS if they are physically ill.
  • The hospital has an infection control team which co-ordinates implementation of all infection prevention and control activities and succeeded in making the intensive care free from infections.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are usually very flexible but there may be times when visiting isn’t advised so it’ s good idea to check before you arrive.

Visiting Time     7.00am - 8.00am

                      4.00pm - 5 .00pm

ICU staff will be on hand during your visit to answer any questions you have.
