Poyanil Hospital Punalur, Endeavour to provide the best healthcare for your child whether as an outpatient, inpatient or at home. If admitted to the inpatient ward we will ensure the child’s stay is as short and as anxiety-free as possible. We work closely with your GP to ensure that we recommend appropriate ongoing treatment as well as provide any follow up care that they may request.
The medical team lead additional specialist services for children with diabetes, feeding problems, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, weight problems and those who have graduated from neonatal intensive care.
Wards and services
Our ward is a 20 bedded inpatient ward with an additional two high dependency beds for the sickest children. In general, there are no set visiting hours for parents whose children are inpatients. There are standard facilities for a parent who wishes to stay with their child.
The Children’s Outpatients Department provides general paediatric clinics (9am to 1pm 3.30pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday)
This department provides high quality care of musculoskeletal problems in newborns, infants, children and adolescents upto 16 years.
A child’s Orthopedic problems are different than those of an adult. Many of the problems children have with their bones and joints don’t occur in adults. Specially trained Paediatric Orthopedic surgeons at Poyanil Hospital Punalur Hospitals perform detailed evaluation and routinely treat such cases.
