OurDepartment of Surgery will endeavor to evolve as a model for primary and tertiary patient care services, integrating all aspects of a case including inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency services. Our General Surgery Department evaluates and manages patients with diseases which potentially require surgical intervention.
Diseases such as abdominal wall hernias, symptomatic gallstones, tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and intra-abdominal tumors are common conditions which are routinely treated in the General Surgery Department. Our surgeons focus on treating the whole patient and not the individual disease. Close coordination is maintained with the referring physician and appropriate specialty physicians in the pre-operative evaluation and postoperative management of the patient.
